My favorite summer memories are all from Peaks. Life seems to slow down there and it's always exactly what I need at the time. Long days spent at the beach, splashing in the cold water. Sunset walks to get ice cream. Nights overflowing with laughter. Memories being filed away to draw warmth from in the depths of cold winter days.
This summer Z is 4 and is conquering previous fears. So wonderful to watch your little being overcome challenges and begin to build more confidence and become more and more brave. He is ever cautious, over analyzing. But as he grows, his hunger for new experiences grows along with him. This year he was really into "surfing" aka using his boogie board as a skim & surf board. Laying it on the shore, running, jumping and gliding across the waves. Alex would hold his hand while Z stood and whip him around into waves. He had his first "wipeout" and I don't think I've ever seen him more excited or proud. He couldn't wait to come home and tell all his friends about it. 
The summer is far too short in Maine. We are trying to soak up every second of warm sunshine and luckily we had 2 glorious weeks to do just that.
