Nothing is more welcome when the mornings & evenings begin to get cool, than warm apple crisp. While I love baking for hours and pouring myself into a recipe, sometimes it's lovely to just whip up a comforting & familiar dessert. This is THAT recipe. Easy. Simple. Delicious.
What you'll need:
-6 apples, peeled & roughly chopped
-2 1/2 TBSP sugar
-3/4 tsp cinnamon
-1/4 tsp salt
-1/2 c. packed brown sugar
-1/2 c. oats
-1/3 c. flour
-4 TBSP cold butter
1. Preheat 350*. Grease baking dish with butter.
2. Toss apples with sugar, 1/8 tsp salt, & cinnamon until apples are well coated.
3. Pour apple mixture into greased baking dish.
4. Mix together the remaining salt, flour, oats, butter & brown sugar.
5. Break the butter clumps up with your hands and work into dry ingredients until well incorporated.
6. Pour oat mixture over apples & gently pat down, making sure the topping is evenly distributed.
7. Bake for 50-60min until topping has browned and apples are bubbling.
8. Let cool for 30 min. Enjoy!
Grab a warm cup of tea, a good book and dig in to this fall classic!
