One central theme has been occupying my thoughts as of late: SOLLA AND WINTER ARE ALMOST 1 YEAR OLD! How did this happen? Wasn't it yesterday I was HUGE, belly so full of little beings? Wasn't Zandros JUST asking me "Mama, when are those babies going to come out?"? Wasn't I just rocking on my hands and knees through contractions, sun not yet awake, Z on the floor beneath my face laughing hysterically as I'd forcefully blow air through my lips with every exhale? I blinked and now I have these little GIRLS. Girls who are growing everyday. Speaking more. Moving more. Connecting more. Exploring more. I am left behind in this daze, hours zipping by, minutes dragging, kids needing less of me and yet more at the same time. What a space to be in!

  1. Time really does fly when they are little, perhaps doubly when you have two? I just had to comment and say how much I love the difference in their hair! I'm assuming one was born with more hair than the other? How unique and special it makes them look. Of course I know that all little people are individuals, but I often found myself thinking in the first days after my second daughter was born that it was nice that she looked so different from her sister -- a good visual reminder to myself and my husband to not expect her to act like a carbon copy of her sister. :-)

    1. Yes Solla was born with a thick head of black hair! I actually spent many hours hoping they wouldn't look alike. I didn't want the added pressure for them. I want them to be individuals. Winter and Solla. Not the "twins". People don't even think they're related!

  2. such little cuties! Jamie and I often talk about how crazy, fun and chaotic it would be to have twins. We are pretty sold on the idea... :)
