One of my dearest friends celebrated her birthday last weekend in Vermont and I was briefly able to go visit and spend some lovely (and much needed!) time with her. Elizabeth (or Biz, one of her many names) was my roommate during our junior and senior years of college. She spent the winter in Guatemala, so it has been far too long since we've seen each other. There's something about spending time with people who know you better than you know yourself...friends who probably know what you're thinking before you're even thinking it. It's homey and comforting and so fun to chat and be together.
Also, Vermont is so beautiful! It's like I forget until I go there again and realize it all over again...so green and gorgeous. We went out for lunch and coffee in Brattleboro which was so fun! So many colorful buildings to look at.
Her parents brought her nephew to her celebration...how cute is he?! He is so funny and so smart...and seriously has the best hair color. Oh, to be able to bottle children's natural highlights! (ha!)
I had a busy and fun filled weekend, and I'm sure Biz and I will be having more summer adventures together soon. I can't wait! xx Courtney
